Christine Tithecott


CT_May2011_ 76 - Version 2 (1)-1.jpgChristine Tithecott is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Iowa, studying with Uriel Tsachor. Ms. Tithecott holds a MMus in Performance and BMus (Honours) in Music Education from Western University (London, Ontario) studying with Gwen Beamish and John Paul Bracey. She also holds an ARCT Diploma in Solo Piano and Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Ms. Tithecott has the opportunity to travel to France to study privately under renowned teachers Jean-Paul Sevilla and Cécile Ousset. She has also been invited to attend summer festivals including Orford Arts Centre, Toronto Summer Music Academy, and Adamant Music School.
An avid performer, Ms. Tithecott has had the opportunity to present recitals throughout Canada, USA, and France. She has been the recipient of the Chopin award in the Stratford Kiwanis Music Festival, the Silver Tray recipient for Piano Performance from the Chatham Kiwanis Festival and a silver medalist from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Ms. Tithecott has a strong passion for teaching and is a member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers (CFMTA) as well as MTNA. Ms. Tithecott is the current president of the University of Iowa MTNA Collegiate Chapter. In high demand as a clinician and adjudicator, she has recently given workshops at the MTNA National Conference in New York City, the IMTA State Conference in Cedar Rapids, and the ORMTA Western Zone Convention. This summer she will present at the CFMTA National Conference in Halifax this summer, and adjudicate the ORMTA Young Artists Competition.
